Check-In
Note: The information on this page may be updated frequently throughout the summer.
Your first important (read: mandatory!) step in Golden Bear Orientation is Check-In.
Here’s what you need to know.
Where and When to Check-In: University-Owned Resident Hall* Students
Check-In date and times will be based on if you live in University Residence Halls and will be dependent on what day you are moving in.
If you are living in University-Owned Residence Halls/Apartments, you can check into GBO at the same location you received your keys to your new home!
University Housing will be providing details about your specific Move In Date and Location via your Berkeley email. Regardless of your Move In date, GBO Check In will occur on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
Where and When to Check-In: Enclave, Panoramic, University Village, International House, and non-University Owned Spaces
If you are living in Enclave, Panoramic, University Village, International House, or a non-University owned space, you will check into GBO on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 between 9:00am and 6:00pm. You’ll only need to come once!

Parking & University Residence Hall Move In
Campus and the City of Berkeley will be very busy on University Move-In days, Tuesday, August 19th and Wednesday, August 20th. There will be adjusted street parking hours/limits due to Housing Move In. There are campus-owned parking structures at multiple locations around central campus, as well as a parking lot directly under the MLK Student Union building. View the Campus Parking site, as well as the Student Permit process. There are also public parking lots surrounding campus. You may have lots of items in your car as you start your Berkeley career; we encourage you to not leave valuables in your car and complete the move into your Berkeley residence prior to GBO Check In.
If you have Move-In questions: Review the Housing Move-In page and follow instructions emailed to your new berkeley.edu email.
