Sophia joined the New Student Services team in June 2025 as the Onboarding Analyst. Originally from Watsonville, California, her journey has profoundly shaped her passion for educational equity and drives her commitment to advocating for nontraditional and first-generation students. After participating in the first Golden Bear Orientation as an incoming transfer student parent, Sophia is excited to contribute to the same inclusive and empowering New Student Services team that welcomed her. Sophia holds a degree in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, and obtained her Master’s in Counseling from San José State University. Outside of work, Sophia enjoys baking, coffee, exploring new places with her family, and hiking.
