Transfer and EAP Student Programming

All new UC Berkeley transfer students and Education Abroad Program participants are invited to sign up for either a Company Visit or a Bay Area Excursion. These events will take place in the afternoon of Friday, August 18, 2017, as part of Golden Bear Orientation. 

  • Sign up based on your personal and professional interests.
  • All events are included in the New Student Programming and Orientation Fee.
  • Many events will rely on public transportation and all will be led by Orientation Leaders.
  • Signups are considered on a first-come, first-served basis; spaces are expected to fill up.

Company Visits
This is an opportunity to learn more about your professional and career interests. Dozens of Bay Area companies and organizations have volunteered their time and opened up their doors to welcome you to their office. This event will allow you to learn more about the specific company and the industry and to network with professionals and possibly some UC Berkeley alumni. Dress according to the work environment, which in most places is business casual.

Bay Area Excursions
The San Francisco Bay Area will be your extended home during your time at UC Berkeley, and there are many amazing perks to living in here, such as world-class museums, the landscape and environment, and entertainment venues. The Bay Area Excursions sites were selected in order to showcase the Bay Area to you so you can enjoy your new home before you begin classes.

Factory Farming Awareness Coalition (Company Visit)

Company Mission/Overview: The Factory Farming Awareness Coalition, founded in Berkeley in 2010, is an educational nonprofit committed to empowering people to save the environment, animals, and our own health through our daily food choices. From social justice to the environment, factory farming is one of the most serious issues facing our planet. FFAC uses grassroots education to spread the idea that every meal we eat can be a powerful form of activism.
