Golden Bear Orientation

After Move-In, you'll participate in a host of events to settle you into your new home, starting with Golden Bear Orientation. Note: You don't need to register.

Golden Bear Orientation is a mandatory weeklong program for new undergraduates that helps you:

  • make connections to your peers, faculty, and staff
  • learn more about available resources and experience campus traditions
  • broaden your understanding of this diverse and dynamic community
  • create a sense of community with your orientation group and trained Golden Bear Orientation Leaders

Golden Bear Orientation starts on campus in August for fall and January for spring. You'll be assigned your own group and trained student Golden Bear Orientation Leader. If you need help during GBO, including help with name tags/wristbands, visit the GBO Help Desk and resource page.

Golden Bear Orientation: Fall 2017 (See GBO FALL 2017 SCHEDULE)
